The colored pencil medium continues to fascinate
me. I am working on a collection of four different
colored pencil note cards. The first two are completed and are posted here for you to see.
The third one is in progress and will feature a
cow fish which is unusual in shape and has a very different mouth. The colors will be very vivid
like the first two.
I like to do colored pencil art work because it is easy to work with. There are no brushes, water
cups, towels or brush cleaners. You pack your
colored pencil binder, some art paper and go.
Taking your colored pencils with you as you travel is a way of capturing some of the things you see and would like to record.
Working with pencils gives you experience in layering and blending colors.It also helps me with color theory. There were times when I didn't have the right shade of color and I used colors that
made the color I wanted.
